My best advice for football football recruits throughout the country regarding the 2011 season

Advice for football players this fallBefore going into this article, I still think that it is crazy that the fall is already here and college and prep football teams are already underway.  While it was a great spring and summer, time went by extremely quick and that means football is kicking off in 2011.  Before I know it, the winter will be here and basketball teams will be in action.

But prior to looking that far ahead, I thought I would give some advice to the many football players who visit this site in regards to the football season.  Most of these areas that I have already talked about before but this is likely the first time I have put it all together in one article.  So enjoy!

Take care of business on the field
There is little doubt that having a great senior season will be a huge key to the recruiting process.  Make sure to have a great final year of prep football.

Help your team win
The longer that your team plays during the season, the better chance college coaches will see you at State.  So do what you can to help the squad win.

Take care of business in the classroom
Even though it is great with all the senior fun that you will be having, take care of business in the class room.  This is vital to scholarships and everything else colleges are looking for.

Stay away from trouble
If there is alcohol at a party, leave.  I promise you that there will be a lot of time to drink after your high school career.

Market yourself to colleges
Do what your can to make sure that colleges are aware of you and your ability.  Market yourself when you see fit.

Make college visits if possible
If you have a family car that can make long distance travel, try to make as many college visits as you can.  The more you know about the schools recruiting you, the better for you.

Figure out what areas interest you as far as a major
As a 17-year old or 18-year old, figure out what your interests are.  And then seriously think about those as a future major and/or career.

Find a good fit size wise
Do you want to go to a big school or a small school?  Figure out what you like more and consider that when marketing yourself to schools.

Have fun
Don’t let the stress of recruiting, a college decision, your senior year, and everything else get in the way.  Have a fun senior year!
