Recruiting is a unique process and is something that will likely never happen again during your life

Recruiting is a unique process that will likely never happen again your lifeThe majority of athletes that I have talked to time and time again tell me that they are glad to have the athletic recruiting process over.  It is relieving to them that they no longer have to worry about which college they will attend, dealing with visits, and answering calls from college coaches.

Yes, this stuff can get stressful but when in your entire life are you going to have a number of people wanting you to join their team?  If you are a sought after recruit, you may have hundreds of different options to pick from?  This is a time that will never happen again in your life.

I always like it when athletes tell me that they are enjoying the process and having fun with it.  It is even better when they tell me that after they committed.  These are the type of athletes that know this is not something that happens frequently.

When will you have people calling you, mailing you, visiting you, and emailing you to pick them?  It may be a dream but I don’t think most athletes have that kind of luck with the ladies.  Chances are slim that once college ends, you will have multiple job offers from companies all over the country trying to land you.

What I am trying to say here is that yes, the athletic recruiting process can get stressful, annoying, and make you want to get it over with.  But there is nothing else like it that you will experience likely in your entire life.

Don’t take it for granted and feel blessed even if one college coach is recruiting you.  In order to get a scholarship or play athletics in college, all you need is one coach to believe in you (or one coaching staff more likely).

Live up this opportunity and enjoy it.  Use it to see different cities, different campuses, and experience something that you have never seen before.  Because after it is over, this once in a lifetime feeling of being wanted by multiple people is something that you will miss a great deal.
